Hey, Riss Lake. The following individuals volunteered to walk / boat the shoreline of Riss Lake on Saturday, August 24 to help keep it beautiful.
Team Chambers was led by LARRY CHAMBERS. Navigating the boat through the treacherous coves of the lake was DON MacCALLUM. First mate was TERRY GILL. RANDY TIMMERMAN was the anchor. Wait......no, we'll stick with that.
MARTY PERREA led Derby Date through the lake. Ably supporting him were MIKE HILDRETH, PETE LOBDELL, and PAUL SCHMITZ.
DOUG AND BLAKE YAGER were the only father-son team. As was expected, Blake carried that team single-handedly.
LEE MESICK walked the rocks along Hiway 45. He put any mountain goat to shame with his dexterity and balance on the rocks.
Both Team CHAMBERS and Team PERREA hauled in 25-foot corrugated tubing. It was by far a record catch for Riss Lake. We're not sure it was going to taste good, but Larry said with the right rub and his ginormous smoker, he could make something tasty out of it.
Over the years, the amount of trash picked up along the lake has declined. It is thanks to volunteers such as these and others over the years who have assisted.
From the HOA, a sincere thank you.
