About Me
Our family is building a house at Riss over the summer and hope to move in October, 2010.  Fishing is my favorite past time - but it is on the back burner until after we move in.  Can't wait for 2011 for some serious fishing.

About Me

I'm just a po boy who was shooting at some food and up from the ground came some bubbling crude. Oil, that is. Texas tea. Loaded up the family and moved to Riss. Been happy ever since.  I'm now a fishing bum -- both on the job (writing for the KC Star) and off (when I'm in bass boat on Riss Lake). Riss is a tremendous place to fish, but very challenging. And very humbling. You can catch the heck out of them one day and get blanked the next day. But I keep coming back for more, just like a loyal dog who has just been whipped. We love the lake, the neighborhood and the friendly people who make this community a special place.

About Me

We moved to Riss Lake in 1994 after having lived in Platte county since 1969.  I was introduced to Riss Lake fishing in 1972 when the area was still undeveloped and you had to buy an annual membership to fish here.  I really appreciated the great fishing and, after retiring in 1992, decided this was where I wanted to live.  We love the way the lake has developed, its' great location, and hope to be here for a long time.

About Me

Carol and I were the first family to reside in Riss Lake in 1988.  These walleye were not caught in Riss Lake, but I'm hoping to catch some like these in Riss Lake, soon.

About Me

I am a physician who works for the Veteran's Administration and am married to a professor of Dentistry at UMKC. I love fishing and have recently started fishing out of a kayak. I would be interested in finding others who may have similar interests to fish Riss Lake or other bodies of water from kayaks.8)
